Some may say New York City's streets make up one big stage, and no one is better proof of that than Ari Miller. Better known online as ARIatHOME, the one-man traveling act takes his keyboard and mic outside and invites those around him to perform — "The ethos of it is anyone that wants to get on the mic is allowed to and is able to," he recently told ABC News. As you might imagine, the result is a little bit of Big Apple magic. Watch his work in action.

2026 Wedding Trends: Couples Say "Yes" to Vintage Decor, Bridal Parties, and TikTok
madisonwi/iStock
Here come the latest wedding trends: Zola recently released its 2026 First Look Report, revealing what people are planning, loving, and leaving behind for their big days. And seeing as this is the first year that Gen Z makes up the majority of the surveyed couples, it's no surprise that TikTok is mentioned 14 times in the report. Based on answers from 11,500 couples getting married this year, the survey shows that the average wedding cost is holding steady at $36,000, as is the average guest count (145). Findings also point to an emphasis on celebrations that favor individuality. As the report notes, wedding etiquette is shifting away from "because we've always done it that way," and toward "here's what feels right for us." On the "in" list are vintage decor, organic floral arrangements, and having wedding parties, along with a rise in mocktail menus, first looks with friends and family, and elaborate wedding exits. More couples also report using TikTok for inspiration and AI as a planning resource — but don't expect to hear robot-written vows, as the majority of couples still say AI "hasn't interfered with the emotional or human side of their wedding." See what else is in (and out) for 2026.

National Zoo Welcomes First Baby Asian Elephant in 25 Years — Help Name Her
Roshan Patel, Smithsonian's National Zoo and Conservation Biology Institute
A big bundle of joy — born weighing 308 pounds — has arrived at the Smithsonian's National Zoo. The adorable baby Asian elephant made her grand entrance Monday at 1:15 a.m., the first of her endangered species born at the Washington, D.C., zoo in over two decades. "After waiting nearly 25 years for an Asian elephant calf, this birth fills us with profound joy," Brandie Smith, a director with the zoo, said in a statement. The moment was long in the making not just for the institution but also for first-time mom Nhi Linh, who was pregnant for 21 months (18-22 months is typical for elephant gestation). The baby girl appeared "healthy, alert, and bright-eyed" at birth, taking her first steps within hours, according to veterinarians. One thing she still needs, though, is a name. Now through Feb. 13, the public can pick from four Vietnamese-inspired monikers via an online donation. The minimum donation is $5, with each dollar equaling one vote and proceeds supporting Asian elephant care and conservation. See the name options and cast your vote.

Embracing the Freeze: Pennsylvania Family Builds Rainbow Igloo With 342 Blocks of Ice
SWNS
As temperatures plunged throughout the U.S. during Storm Fern last month, one family found the silver — or, should we say, rainbow — lining. When heavy snow fell across Pennsylvania, Ashley Barron decided to embrace the freeze by creating a multicolored igloo with her family out of 342 blocks of ice. Inspiration struck the nurse practitioner after she saw others posting their own rainbow igloos to social media. At first, her husband Brandon Barron and their children — Colton, 17, Coy, 16, and Kaia, 2 — weren't eager to brave the cold, but it wasn't long before everyone got in on the fun. "Initially, I thought this would be something that everyone was up for," Ashley, 43, told SWNS. "My husband thought I was crazy, so I said, 'OK, I will do it myself.' I started work on the igloo, and I think everyone felt bad, so they all started joining in — and even had fun doing it. My father-in-law came around to help, and so did my brother and his girlfriend." See more pics and learn how to make your own.

Saipua Handmade Soap Saipua (derived from the Finnish word for "soap") makes the loveliest hand soap. Unhoused people become especially vulnerable when temperatures drop. Ryan DuVal saw that, so he put his vintage fire truck to work in Tulsa, Oklahoma, picking up neighbors without a place to stay and bringing them to warmth. In just one week, he assisted nearly 80 people — and sparked a ripple of kindness. Watch the good Samaritan in his element.
