Dear Friends,

Most of the country is in some form of in-home shelter at the moment. When you're cooped up a fun project can help pass the time, especially if you have kids at home. Below I've shared some of my favorite "project" recipes, as well as dishes that are made with items that keep well in the pantry.

For my Jewish readers, Passover is just around the corner! For recipe ideas visit my Passover Category, which includes lots of tasty options (broken down by dietary preference) and fun family crafts

THE OLD FASHIONED WAY: HOMEMADE BUTTER - Butter is a simple thing to make with ordinary kitchen tools, and you don't even need to own a goat or a cow.  You can make butter with store-bought whipping cream. It's a fun project that requires very little equipment - and it tastes great! Includes a new how-to video. RECIPE HERE or PIN IT for later.
CINNAMON BABKA - Learn to bake tender, delicious homemade Cinnamon Babka with this illustrated step-by-step tutorial. This recipe is tested, reviewed, and ready for your kitchen! Even if you're not a born baker, you can make a crave-worthy babka by following the steps in this post. RECIPE HERE or PIN IT for later.
MEDITERRANEAN SARDINE PASTA WITH LEMON, CAPERS, AND CHILI FLAKES  - This dish is easy, comforting, good for you, and contains several items that keep well in the pantry. It's an easy, heart-healthy, guilt-free meal. RECIPE HERE or PIN IT for later.
SAFFRON CHICKPEA RISOTTO  - Vegetarian risotto made with vegetable stock and vegetarian Parmesan cheese. I added chickpeas to make the dish a complete protein (combined with the rice), making this a delectable stand-alone meatless entree. It is entirely addictive! RECIPE HERE or PIN IT for later.
MISSOURI COOKIES - These cookies were one of my favorite treats growing up, and they're so easy to make—no baking required.  I think they would be a fun and tasty project to do with kids while staying indoors. RECIPE HERE or PIN IT for later.
HOMEMADE CHICKEN AND NOODLES - We consider chicken and noodles the ultimate comfort food. This recipe has been a staple in my family since I was born. It's an economical and delicious dinner option.  It's a fun family-friendly cooking project, and I'm delighted to share it with you. RECIPE HERE or PIN IT for later.
