To the moms who lead the way

Some of us learned to read a trail map across a kitchen table. Some of us learned that rain is not a reason to turn around, that the cardinal calls before you see it, and that the bag goes by the door the night before so morning doesn't get a vote.

That was your doing. The early starts, the extra granola bar tucked into a side pocket, the patience for small legs on long hills. You made the outdoors feel like a place we belonged before we knew to ask.
