Hey runners,
Yesterday the running world lost an icon. Legendary marathoner and coach Jeff Galloway has passed. Not only did Jeff run at an elite level, including in the Olympics, but his coaching and run/walk method of training has helped millions of runners achieve their goals. Few have had an impact on the running world like Jeff. His old roommate and training partner, Amby Burfoot, authored the obituary we're sharing below.
Meanwhile...the 2026 World Marathon Major season is about to begin, and in our latest podcast, we break down everything you need to know about the Tokyo Marathon — from the elite field and course dynamics to how this first Major could shape the rest of the year.
We also tackle marathon training burnout, surviving your first 26.2, overstriding, and the 85 essential running terms every runner should know — plus a timely look at Ironman's new photography ban and what it could mean for races.
And if you're shoe-obsessed like we are, Alex Cyr just dropped one of the most anticipated comparisons of the year: Asics Superblast 3 vs. Megablast — a deep dive into which one you should actually buy, and who each shoe is really built for.
Happy running!
