Let's dive in! As you begin your Rosh Hashanah holiday planing, browse my complete Rosh Hashanah Recipe Index, explore vegetarian favorites, or my favorite gluten-free ideas that everyone at your table will enjoy.

If you're new to the holiday, or want to share more about its traditions with family and friends, this overview on What is Rosh Hashanah is a great place to start.

Here are a few holiday favorites from the site to get you started! Whether you're hosting a big gathering or preparing an intimate family dinner, I hope the following popular recipes help you create a beautiful and memorable Rosh Hashanah.

Reader Favorite Rosh Hashanah Recipes

Apple Honey Challah: Apple Honey Challah is one of my most popular Rosh Hashanah recipes. This beautiful braided challah is sweetened with honey and stuffed with tender apple pieces. I have included easy braiding instructions for a perfect round challah every time. For an introduction to the basic braiding techniques, click here.

Holiday Brisket: A savory, aromatic, slowly cooked brisket with tomatoes, onions, garlic, brown sugar, and a touch of vinegar. At Rosh Hashanah, it is added to root vegetables with sweet dried fruits and slow cooked into tzimmes.

Fennel Apple Salad with Cider Tahini Dressing: A crunchy, sweet, and tangy salad made with fennel, green apples, and a creamy tahini dressing. As a bonus, this salad incorporates a few of the symbolic foods for Rosh Hashanah. Apples and honey are traditionally eaten to signify a sweet new year. You can use agave or date honey to keep the dressing vegan. Pomegranates are often eaten as a "new fruit" of the season.

Persian Saffron Pudding: This Persian Saffron Pudding is so delicious and super easy to make ahead. It's perfect for a variety of dietary restrictions. This pudding is gluten free, dairy free, and vegan. Made with saffron, pistachios and orange blossom syrup, the flavor is outstanding – so different. Wow your guests with this unique treat!

I'll be back soon with more favorite Rosh Hashanah recipes. Love great reads? Find even more newsletters to enjoy.

In the meantime, I would love to connect on Pinterest.

With warmth and gratitude,
