We celebrated Passover this week. We celebrate the Israelites liberation from slavery in ancient Egypt.

During dinner we discussed slavery then and now and we asked ourselves how we are each experiencing slavery in our modern lives and what we feel enslaved to.

I am enslaved to my city, NY; I can't ever leave it even if I want to. To my phone; I look at it all the time, even if I have nothing to check. And to my routine; Changing my routine creates some anxiety so I am very good at avoiding changing it.

Many around the table said they felt enslaved to the news.
