(Rounding out the top five biggest capitals are Austin, Columbus, Indianapolis, and Denver.) The Phoenix metro area has a combined population of just over 5 million people — more than the populations of 25 individual states. Of that 5 million, nearly 1.7 million live in Phoenix itself, and there may be a reason for that — it also ranks as one of America's sunniest cities. |
