Dear Friends,

It's cold out there! Winter is in full swing, which means hearty, comforting fare... and the occasional brinner. I've included a few wintry recipes below, as well as a fun tutorial for making bath fizzies. Who doesn't love a nice hot bath after being out in the cold?

For even more recipes, check out my roundup of Easy, Healthy Recipes for the New Year.

MNAZALEH - I learned this simple and flavorful recipe for mnazaleh, a vegan eggplant and chickpea stew, in the kitchen of a Druze family in Israel. Pronounced min-ah-zah-lay, this dish is a healthy meatless entree that can be enjoyed alone or served with bread for dipping. RECIPE HERE or PIN IT for later.
CHOCOLATE BABKA - This recipe was developed after months of careful research. My goal was to produce a classic babka recipe that works every time. Learn to bake tender, delicious homemade chocolate-filled babka with this illustrated step-by-step tutorial. RECIPE HERE or PIN IT for later.
KOSHER CHICKEN PAPRIKASH - This might be slightly different than the paprikash you're familiar with. Many Hungarian paprikash recipes contain sour cream, which adds creaminess to the sauce. This recipe comes from my friend Michael Berkowits, who grew up kosher and never mixed milk with meat. The sauce is rich, thick, and totally delicious without dairy. RECIPE HERE or PIN IT for later.
ROASTED CAULIFLOWER ALFREDO WITH PEAS - I created this dish to satisfy my craving for Fettuccine Alfredo. It satisfies my craving for creamy pasta without all the fat and calories by replacing the heavy carbs and cholesterol with healthy gluten free vegetables and probiotic Greek yogurt. It's a nourishing and flavorful meal, and it couldn't be easier to make. RECIPE HERE or PIN IT for later.
HOW TO MAKE FLUFFY MOIST SCRAMBLED EGGS - Anybody can scramble eggs, but making a fluffy, moist scramble is a bit of an art form. I really loathe overcooked, rubbery or browned eggs. So many diners serve them this way, which means I rarely go out for breakfast anymore. It's perfectly easy (and way less expensive) to make tasty eggs at home. Here's how! TUTORIAL HERE or PIN IT for later.
HOW TO MAKE BATH FIZZIES - There's no better way to relax and unwind than with a nice hot bath. They're even better when dressed up with homemade bath fizzies! You can add colors, dried flowers, moisturizing oils and even glitter. The sky is the limit with these and once you get the hang of the basic method, you can feel free to add as many fun additions as you'd like. TUTORIAL HERE or PIN IT for later.
